Little Brother Silas has arrived!

We thank God for blessing us with another healthy boy on Thursday. Silas John Fikkert was born at 12:12 pm on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010. He weighed 7 lbs. and 7 oz. and was 20 inches long. We were surprised that he was a little smaller than Noah, especially since Noah was a few days early & Silas was a week overdue. He has a decent amount of dark hair & a noticable chin "divit". I was induced again this time since I was overdue. The labor & delivery went really fast this time. The nurses almost called a Dr. in from the hall because they weren't sure mine was going to make it in on time. My Dr. did make it, but he also did say that he might need to give Matt a few instructions for next time in case we don't make it to the hospital on time since things went so fast at the end. Silas has been doing well. He has been sleeping lots and lots which is nice for me - that way I can sneak in some extra sleep as well. Noah is doing well so far too. He is very concerned for Silas when he cries. He says "uh-oh" and runs a pacifier over to him. He seems to be a gentle-hearted, concerned older brother (so far!). It helps a lot that Matt is home because he has become big buddies with his daddy over the summer, so he is still getting lots of attention. He stayed at Emily's house while we were in the hospital and he didn't seem any too ready to come back home. He must've had a really good time there. (Thank you Kevin & Sharon for taking care of him!) Here are a few pictures of Silas from the hospital.

  2. Very cute pics--congrats again! We had a good time with Noah and hopefully being around Megan has gotten him ready for a little brother. Hope your days are going well. (we have colds over here but we'll try to get better soon so Noah can come over and play)
