First Day of 1st Grade and a Trampoline Incident

It was bound to happen sometime with boys in the house....  Noah gave us our first broken bone experience just a couple of days before his 7th birthday (not a very good early birthday present!).  He had been playing at a neighbor's house, and from what information we finally gleaned, he and some other kids were walking along the edge of the trampoline (outside of the net) when he slipped off and fell on his arm.  I was worried he had broken his arm almost right away because the pain wasn't going away and it just didn't look right to me.  Thankfully urgent care was still open, so we were able to get him a temporary cast and sling.  He got his real cast on Monday and was really nervous about having to go to school with a cast (school had just started for the year and he does not like extra attention), but once he got through the first day he adjusted pretty quickly. Unfortunately, when we had our check-up about a week later the doctor was not happy with how bent the bone still was (it had not been a clean break - it was a green stick fracture where the bone starts to splinter, but ends up just being bent instead of broke all the way through) so they scheduled him for "surgery" so that they could reset it and get it straightened out.  Noah did great through the whole surgery process and he received another green cast to wear for several more weeks.
