On the morning of Silas's birthday, after enjoying some birthday sprinkle pancakes, our family headed out for Seattle. This would be the longest road trip we had taken as a family. We drove a little over 8 hours the first day and spent the night in a yurt in southern Oregon. The following day we met up with our friends the Pausmas who were also making the trip and visited Multnomah Falls. We decided to be adventurous and hike to the top of the falls (which was a little strenuous for me I must admit). The boys did really well though, Noah was a little scared of the trail drop-offs at first, and Silas wanted to be carried for a few stretches, but Noah overcame his fears and all-in-all they did great. All the switchbacks were numbered, and on the way back down it was kind of cute because Silas laid his head down on the #5 switchback pole and said "Hi #5, I'm 5 too!" and then he went on his merry way.
Fun times in the yurt
Dangling our feet from the bridge over the lower falls
Beautiful view of the Columbia River Gorge from the top of the falls
