San Francisco / A's Game

We kicked off the start of our summer break with a trip to the San Francisco Bay area.  We were able to take the boys to several of the main attractions of San Francisco.  We also joined some friends one night for an Oakland A's game.  At the end of our trip we picked up Grandpa and Grandma Fikkert from the San Fran airport.

We spent some time exploring Golden Gate Park.  What a beautiful place in the heart of San Francisco!

Next we headed to Golden Gate bridge.  Noah really wanted to drive across it (ever since seeing Big Hero 6), so we all did that for the first time.
A great view of the SF skyline

After battling some bad traffic due to construction in downtown, we made it to the A's game.  We wanted to get to the game in plenty of time because they were handing out Steve Vogt (a former CVC student who now plays for the A's) bobble heads that night.  We got our bobble heads and joined several other families and had a really fun time watching the game.  All the kids really got into it and the A's pulled out a win for us!
Waiting in line to get our bobble heads!

The next day we headed back to downtown San Francisco.  The boys really wanted to ride the cables cars, so we walked all the way down to the pier and caught a cable car back to the BART.  Silas was pretty exhausted at this point and he ended up falling asleep and missing most of his cable car ride :)
Silas thought this cheetah was really cool

Happily hanging on in the cable car
