El Capitan

We thoroughly enjoyed our camping trip to El Capitan State Park near Santa Barbara over Spring Break.  It was quite "plush" camping experience for us.  The campground came with a heated pool and jacuzzi and the nicest campground showers I have ever seen.  We saw quite the display of wildlife while at the beach.  There was at least one school of whales, tons of dolphins, and a group of sea lions all near the shore.  We were also entertained by the pelicans nose-diving into the ocean to catch fish.

The boys had a blast riding these metal trikes down the campground hills.  They would pick up some speed then lift up their legs & go flying down the hill.  Good thing the trikes were heavy, because at the end of the hill they would take a pretty sharp corner at a pretty good clip.  Silas was a danger to both himself and others.  He tended to look around and behind himself instead of where he was going.  I was very glad to take him home in one piece!

What could be more entertaining than the beach?

A little silliness at mealtime

Silas vs. the Waves.  Silas looks a bit concerned for his fate.

So great to see this girl so happy and healthy!

A few of the many dolphins we enjoyed watching.
